Institutional Research (IR)
Institutional research is a crucial function of OPE at LUMS. In IR, we focus on data collection, analysis, and reporting to support decision-making and strategic planning at the university. IR involves a wide range of activities, from assessing student demographics and outcomes to evaluating programme effectiveness and institutional performance. By providing accurate and relevant data, we help the university improve its educational quality, enhance student success, and help with key university-wide decisions which enable LUMS achieve its mission and goals.
Our Projects
LUMS Statistical Handbook
Every year, we compile statistics related to university admissions, research, general administration, and other areas. These statistics are organised in the LUMS Statistical Handbook and shared within LUMS.
Surveys at LUMS
We design and conduct surveys required to inform university decisions, such as assessing student and faculty feedback on online semesters. We also support other departments at LUMS by sharing expertise in designing and conducting effective surveys.
Informing Decisions
The OPE team works extensively to help inform various decisions at LUMS. We have conducted research that informs the administration about the effects of changes in the fee structure, the effect of online classes during COVID on student grades, and the changes in educational outcomes of vulnerable students at LUMS.
